Everyone loves a juicy burger! I’ve decided that cheddar & jalapeño will be my burger of choice for Memorial Day! I’ve compiled some great burger tips below do you can have an amazing burger bbq extravaganza!
*Always go go with an 80/20 mix for meat to fat content.
*Use a light hand when forming patties, you don’t want them compact.
*When having mix ins, like cheddar and jalapeños, form your hand like a stiff claw and use a clockwise motion to mix the flavors in.
*Get creative with the buns! We chose chewy pretzels for our burger.
*NEVER press a burger, you don’t want to squish all the juice out!
* Season your burgers with salt and pepper & no oil. You want your grill at about 400 degrees and you’ll cook it for about 4-6 minutes on one side (rotating it halfway for grill marks) then 2-3 on the other for a 1/4 pound burger. This gives you a medium well burger. I’d eat em rare but gotta kill those germs:)
*Get creative with mix ins and toppings! Set up a bar or a few kinds of lettuce and sliced onions or grilled onions, several kinds of cheese and of course some awesome mayos! Maybe even 2 styles of buns.
You have to have fries with your burger so I chose sweet potatoes for this guy.
Paprika Sweet Potato Fries
3 large sweet potatos
3 tbsp oil suitable for roasting
2 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chili flakes
2 tsp garlic powder
Pre-heat oven to 375. Slice potatos into thick cut fries and place in a large ziplock bag. Pour oil & seasonings into the bag and mix it all up! Dump the fries onto a parchment lined baking sheet & bake for 30 minutes or until potatos are crisp & tender.
