Now…onto the boozy hot cocoa!

Serves 4-6
Prep time: 15 minutes

2 cups whole milk
2 cups half and half
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch of salt 
3 mini bottles of Elk Rider Rye Whiskey from the Heritage Distilling Advent calendar
1 cup chopped dark chocolate for garnish 
2 cups prepared whipped cream 

In a large heavy-bottom sauce pan, heat the milk, half and half, chocolate syrup, cocoa, and salt until steam rises from the top and tiny bubbles appear around the outer rim of the milk in the pan. Do not boil the mixture. Remove from heat and add the whiskey.

To serve, ladle spiked hot cocoa into mugs, top with whipped cream, and garnish with chopped chocolate.
